     SSG Ehrman joined the Army in 1948, serving with the Engineers.  His uniform shows service with both the Xth Army and the 8th Army.   Also he wears the short-lived two-inch rank chevrons. The blue chevrons on the gold background indicate that he is assigned to a combat unit.
